EOS.IO is software that introduces a blockchain architecture designed to enable vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications (the “EOS.IO Software”). This is achieved through an operating system-like construct upon which applications can be built. The software provides accounts, authentication, databases, asynchronous communication and the scheduling of applications across multiple CPU cores and/or clusters. The resulting technology is a blockchain architecture that has the potential to scale to millions of transactions per second, eliminates user fees and allows for quick and easy deployment of decentralized applications. For more information, please read the EOS.IO Technical White Paper.

I am in no way connected or affiliated with EOS or block.one. This has kind of become the thread for EOS on Bitcointalk, so I thought I would edit the OP with links and information. OP May 6, 2017:

It sounds like this is essentially Ethereum, but much more efficient seeing as though it has asynchronous processing of smart contracts.

He hasn't released many details yet, but I guess the details will come in after Coindesk's Consensus conference.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Wonder if it can be launched in a fair and transparent way. They always create interesting projects though for sure.

I'm curious to see if the first apps to run on EOS will be BitShares and Steem?

Not an EOS specific interview, but does give a good idea what Dan is thinking: https://youtu.be/I-X4faugNuI

Just when do they think of creating an ANN thread here, it feels like we are deprived of the details and the right to ask questions when a team just do a close door sale which is only for private investors. But yes its a good project I suppose.

btctalk is filled with nonsense ANN threads, plus a million trolls.  Dan and team created Steem thus makes sense to put announcements on Steem?

This is an important project, as seen with BTC, crypto needs to scale.  A recent test of graphene, which powers bitshares and steem, showed it can currently do 2500 transactions a block and 8000 operations a block.  Sounds like a lot however crypto needs to scale much higher for real world adoption of applications.  http://docs.bitshares.eu/_downloads/bitshares-stresstest.pdf

Is this a proven fact.

When were the IQ tests conducted and what were the scores?

Interesting though to see for sure... although if it has a huge bearing on the projects success I'm not sure so long as they are within a certain range.

His releases so far have been rather dubious in terms of initial distribution. Let's hope he can improve upon this.

If he can fix this glaring issue i think more people will get behind his projects in future.

I am hoping for this too, because I know he can produce the code to make just about any concept work- he has proven that 3 times now with BTS, BTS 2.0 Graphene, then Steem.

Also, the idea for EOS is top notch. This coin will be big indeed if he can distribute it fairly.

I know him well, know him as one of the smartest person in crypto field,  but he wasn't  acclaimed by bitshares society. Maybe I am wrong, I think vitalik is a man with high IQ/EQ.

Did anyone hear more about this or have they not done the presentation yet?. I am liking this ICO and really want to get some backing into it. Hopefully soon.
